Meandering Pathways

In Defense of Poché

The neighboring Brooklyn Bridge Park has provided inspiration for he passages in our hotel. Instead of using traditional straight halls, we propose a more meandering circulation that mimics a walk in the park.

This mapping exercise shows two different types of circulation between hotel lobby and guest room. The red line represents typical linear circulation both vertically and horizontally through space. The green line shows a more park-like path.

The following floor plan shows our proposed horizontal circulation through a typical guest room floor in our hotel.
